The other day as I was browsing around the internet, I visited the American Idol-related website: votefortheworst.com.  VFTW was interesting.  There is a spot on the site where someone does weekly reviews of each episode.  Name, song, commentary, and a letter grade.

Reading through those recaps, I was struck by how similar the style and commentary are to my weekly recaps.  Granted there are only so many ways to "skin a cat", but I was still a little surprised at how like-minded the individual who writes the VFTW recaps is with me.  Go ahead and see for yourself.  I was genuinely surprised on how similar the commentary is to mine.

Tonight's Results:

Tonight's show was an hour-long results' edition.  That means that we were in for some heavily padded material.  Nearer the end, Bucky Covington, Elliot Yamin, and Ace Young found themselves in the bottom three.  Ultimately Bucky ended up being the one with the fewest votes, so he was eliminated.

Ace: Dodged a bullet again.  He was terrible, and has been since that George Michael song.  He must be appealing to some segment of fans, because I doubt he's getting many votes from any demographic that I'm in.

Elliot:  I didn't think that it was cool when he said he didn't really know any Queen songs.  He must be from a different planet.  For the second week in a row, Elliot seemed to be intensely trying to not screw up the lyrics of his song.  I wonder whether he'll have a chance to get comfortable with a song before he's eliminated.

Bucky: Sad that he was eliminated on a night when he was one of the better singers.  Realistically, he didn't have much of a chance.  We'll see him in the audience on future Idol tapings, as well as on the final show of the season.

Once again, Bucky showed us what happens when a performer draws the unlucky number one.  Performing first is always rough on Idol.

Jamie - I haven't watched this (obviously) but two years ago Australian Idol did a Beatles night and THREE of the 7 contestants tripped up on their words and used the excuse "I'm not familiar with any of the Beatles music"

Hello?!?!?!? what the?!?! One of them did Chaka Kahn's Work it Out (more like Beyonce then Beatles) another did Zoot's Elenore Rigby and the other did I Saw Her Standing There.

The other four did Yesterday (utterly predictable) Across the Universe, I got to get you into my Life and Oh Darlin

It was absolutely shocking but thankfully Beyonce went home. However Zoot & the other one came first and second of the series. It was shocking!!

I'm boycotting Australian Idol 4 - I just can't get attatched again - the talented ones only ever make it to the top 5. (or 3)

We can all look for Bucky to start showing up on CMT, maybe even a new member of The Music Mafia?

Oh kay. Time to weigh in. For the record, I've watched American Idol all of three times in my life. It's not my style of show, and not usually my style of music.
But I do have many friends who are avid fans, and when I heard they were doing a night of all Queen songs, I had to watch.
Thank goodness Bucky is gone. You can't countrify "Fat Bottomed Girls" and get away with it. End of story.
The guy who did "We Will Rock You" must go home. You can't mess with that song, and he shouldn't have even touched it.
I was scared to see that Kellie girl do "Bohemian Rhapsody". But she did good, and she's a honey.
But when that McPhee girl got up, she sold it for me. She had better win or I'm going to be pissed!!!!!

That girl is GORGEOUS. End of story.

Well, when the season got started, I actually thought Katherine was the favourite to win. Jamie thinks it's Chris (and I'm sure many others) and I'm beginning to think so too especially after seeing the fans reaction and that Katherine was in the bottom three 2 weeks ago.

I didn't think it was Bucky's time to go...he did so much better than Ace.
