Hello there friends. I hope that all of you had a happy weekend.
My wife, my son, and I spent the weekend in Duluth, Minnesota. We were up there to visit my parents on my Mom's birthday, as well as meet some of my friends to play some paintball in Superior, Wisconsin.
Here in Monticello (where we live,) the temperature is warm, the snow is gone, the birds are back, and the grass is turning green. Three hours away, by the shores of Lake Superior, it was cold and sleeting. There was also a lot of snow on the ground. When I was preparing to play paintball I wasn't expecting it to be as cold as it was, and there to be so much snow on the ground. The ground was so icy in front of my parents' house, I was afraid that it would be hard to keep my footing while playing paintball.
Of course running around in the woods keeps a body pretty warm, so it didn't seem as cold as it actually was. The footing wasn't so bad there either. The type of terrain at the paintball place kept the various playing fields essentially free of ice.
Here is my friend Andy who organized the paintball group. He is the one who got me involved in playing. He is a pretty skilled paintballer.
This is my helmet. I took a few shots to the face. It is a new helmet. I got that and a new paintball gun this weekend.
Here's me, posing for a picture with my paintball stuff.
Andy's wife, Chialing came to Duluth/Superior too. She spent the day with Kazuko and Kentaro in Superior. It seems like they had fun.

SUMO:
I just finished watching the last two days of the most recent sumo tournament on video tape. This tournament was a fun one. Asasekiryu came from nowhere to enter the yusho hunt, and Chiyotaikai and Asashoryu were competing for the title until the final day. Yokozuna Asashoryu ended up winning with a clean-sweep tournament-win (zensho-yusho) which was his second in-a-row.
Asasekiryu, the guy who I have been rooting-for recently, picked up the Fighting-spirit prize, and the Technique prize.
