American Idol 5 Results' Show: May 3, 2006

Tonight Chris, Taylor, and Katharine found themselves in the top-three. Elliott and Paris were in the bottom-two.

After a suspense-killing 9:00 local news promo which implied that Paris would be eliminated, we found that it was indeed Paris Bennett who was eliminated. (Minnesota media outlets love to push "Minnesota ties." Apparently Paris lived in a Minneapolis suburb for a while.)

The competition is getting really tight. Elliott, Chris, Katharine, and Taylor are all really strong. I'd bet that Elliott goes next.

Now that Katherine (and I know I've said it every time I comment on your AI blogs) . . . that's idol material.

Eliott can really sing, but he NEEDS an extreme makeover, particularly in the dental department....

Taylor is just too quirky, he'll sell lots of true R&B to the boomer crowd tho

It's sad that talent isn't everything, then again, Kat and Chris do tend to represent the closest thing to a total package

I think you're right, Dynosaur. They are the closest thing to a full package - and that's what the whole thing is about anyway. I sure did enjoy Taylor's version of "Play that funky music whiteboy" though . . . that had to get points with the minority crowd!

It seems that over here in the UK, Taylor isn't very popular at all. Katherine seems to be the most liked, although Chris is a close second. Bear in mind, we don't get to vote since it is shown a day late over here.

I think Taylor doesn't work for some because he's not got the "look" of an idol. He's got that awesome salt-and-pepper hair, and he can give an exciting performance, but ultimately he doesn't have the look. And that's why I'm almost sure it will be Chris or Katherine. I guess we'll have to see which group of fans has faster dialing reflexes . . .
