Hey there,

I have a few projects planned for spring break this year. One of my main projects is to trim the hedges on the north and east sides of my house.

I have been "blessed" with about 20+ yards of hedges that have been unkept and are terribly overgrown. It is one of my goals for this vacation to get those god-awful things trimmed down to a respectable height. The tough part is that there is a lot to do, and the hedges are awfully pointy. (My arms are all scratched-up!)

Over the past two days I have put in a lot of work with the saw. In about five hours, I consider myself to be about 35% finished. Hopefully I will be finished with the cutting part by midweek.

After cutting, I will seem to have accumulated a rather substantial pile of branches which need to be disposed-of. As soon as I am finished, I will rent a wood chipper to chop up my pile of branches. What a project!

My other project (besides preparing my vegetable garden) will be to finish the landscaping around the flagpole that I installed. My wife and I bought a wooden fence and some landscape rocks to put around the flagpole area. I have to wait until the cement is all set (two days from now) before I can finish landscaping that area.

It sounds like a lot of work, but it is awfully fun! I am so lucky to have this time to improve the looks of my yard.

Are you trimming the hedges with a saw? A pruner or hedge trimmer would be eaiser. Good luck with that. After years of trying to keep the ones in front of our house trimmed each year, I was thrilled when they died. We just have flowers there now. Much more enjoyable.

THe pruner and the hedge trimmer only work on the little stuff. I have to cut off some thicker branches.

It became good exercise.
But 5 hours trim the hedges is too hard!
Don't carry out unreasonableness.
