Hello there friends!

I hope that you are having an interesting and fun weekend. I just finished a pretty busy Saturday.

After waking up, my family went to an ECFE benefit garage sale at the High School in Elk River. We were able to buy a lot of baby stuff for just $14. We got some clothes, books, and toys. Our most interesting purchase was a baby jumper. We've had our eyes on one of those for some time now. (Instead of paying $20 for one, we were able to find one for $3 in the box.)

After the sale, we went for some coffee, and then to a home improvement center to buy some stuff for our garden. (We also had to make a trip to K-mart to pick up some things that we had forgotten to get at the first place.)

Coming home, I did some work on my garden, and my wife started some flowers in pots. I also had to transfer some of my seedlings into larger pots because they were getting too big for their little containers.

Here are a few pictures from our day:

This is our Japanese lilac tree. See, it is budding! Since it is too cold in Minnesota for sakura trees, we will have hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties around the Japanese lilac tree. I got this tree mail-order from a nursery in Nebraska. It looks like it "took" to our yard.

We have all four koinobori streamers flying outside now. I have finished landscaping around the pole too.

Here is where the garden will be. I added some fertilizer and attached the fences to the posts today. Maybe next weekend I will put the topsoil in there.

While I was doing my garden today, I saw a pretty big rabbit hole. (I have seen two rabbits in my yard.) I filled this one up. If they dig it up again, I will have to figure out some sort of rabbit repellant to put around my garden.

I caught one of those rascals on my camera phone the other day. I stopped my car as I was pulling out of the garage. This little guy and his friend were hanging around the bushes on the south side of my house.

The plants have gone into individual pots. My seedlings have gotten too big to keep in the original seedling tray, but it is still to early to put them outside.

We found a Johhny Jump-up at the ECFE sale today. Kenny seems to enjoy it.
