Well Well.

American Idol is over for this week. The results' show was awfully surprising. LaToya, Jennifer, and Fantasia were in the bottom three. I would have to say that the three contestants have suffered as a result of being coined "The Three Divas."

I read the results of tonight's show to be that since there are only so many "diva" fans to go around, the three young ladies ended up cannibalizing each other's votes. One of the three being voted off will probably lead to the remaining two picking up the extra votes.

Once again, John Stevens (the internet's most-hated contestant) cheats a fellow contestant off of the show. -Does anyone have a theory on why this knucklehead doesn't get the boot? I haven't rooted-against a contestant this much since Josh.

Out of the rest of the top-four:

George Huff had enough good performances to justify him sticking around even if he has hit a bit of a rough spot lately.

Jasmine Trias is unique enough to keep in. I can understand her appeal. (I'm glad that she lost the flower. It was getting old.)

Diana DeGarmo is a good singer with a sweet personality. I wouldn't mind seeing her continue on.

This year's Idol is a little strange to me. I like to watch the show, but I really think that it is missing something without Clay Aiken in the competition. (I miss Carmen and Julia too.) This year, I am mildly rooting for Diana or LaToya; but nobody has really "caught my imagination."

Actually, I think those three suffered from a large number of Manilow fans, who hadn't seen any other episodes, watching this week, seeing these three butcher some of our favorite songs, and then voting for one of the other four.....since I had not watched at all this season until Tuesday, I did NOT participate in the voting as I thought it would be truly unfair, but I know from some of the Manilow groups in which I participate, that many others DID vote, and registered their disgust with these ladies renditions.

I will be watching the rest of the season, and I'm pulling for Diana and Jasmine.

How are the nut cases who are voting for John?! Are they tone deaf teens that think he's cute? I just don't get it!!

I agree 100%. I cannot place my finger on the intangible aspect that I find missing this season, but I really don't feel that strongly for any of them. Fantasia is fun, LaToya has a great voice, and some of the others are decent. I suppose if I had to pick I would go with George, but I don't know if he is consistent enough to make it all the way.

However, if John Stevens hangs around for another week I will be furious.

Prepare to be furious BlueDev. I have the feeling that he'll keep hanging-on until the end.

Ugh, that is my fear.

I have to agree with your conclusion with regard to AI3 missing Clay Aiken. I continue to watch the show, but until last night---with the three divas in the bottom three, I have not gotten excited. I attended the AI2 concert in Detroit and Clay/Kelly concert in Detroit and Washington DC, but this season, I have not even voted. And I certainly would not pay to attend a concert or purchase a CD of AI3. I believe the show is rigged big time. The producers have wanted a black female from the beginning, but I do not think that is going to occur. They overplayed their cards, by selecting three: the vote is divided by three. The show has been a big disappointmaent after Clay & Ruben.

I am very disgusted that John Stevens is still there...to me he is the Julis Damato of this year. At least she was voted off fast.
I don't know but the results show even made it to the radio with talks about rigging...who knows..but if the red head wins..I quit watching the show forever!

Yeah Kelly, for some reason the women didn't really care much for Julia last year. I was a fan of hers.

Thanks for replying.
