The other day as I was changing our baby's diapers, I had a thought.

Our five month-old baby's diapers are decorated with images of Sesame Street characters, Barney, Mickey Mouse, and like that. I wonder whose benefit those pictures are for, the babies or the parents?

Of course, the pictures are for the parents' benefit.

My brilliant marketing idea would be to put jokes, classified ads, household hints, racing forums, stock tips, rock stars, whatever on the diapers. Anything that parents would be interested in.

My bet is that the "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model," or "Chippendale Dancers" diapers would be hot sellers, especially for baby shower gag-gifts.

As much as I desire to agree with you in reguards to swimsuit models being hot sellers, I have the small inkling that another diaper design would out do it - at least amoung males. The diaper would be a bit something like this:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Lay baby on table
2. Peel tape back on soild diaper
[...]

PRECAUTIONS:
1. Take deep breath *before* removing diaper
2. Take care to avoid a direct line of fire
[...]

I think that diaper would have quite a large popularity indeed.

Syrrus...that would be the "New Parent" line of butts.

Coupons would be where it's at.

Coupons would be where it's at too.

I suppose I should have elaborated a bit more. I indeed was aiming at your new or otherwise clueless dad, who's always been able to pass the duty off onto another sole - at least until that one fateful day....

I think those are all great ideas!

Oh why don't we get Sesame St and Disney characters on our Nappies - we have Huggies - which has funny monkey's and hippos with ABC and 123 etc, Snugglers which I don't buy, Cosyfits with I don't buy but was given some at my babyshower - and they have fish on them and Babylove (i don't buy but was given some) puppies

Oh well - I do wonder why they bother with boy/girl nappies when they're both the same - I always assumed that the boys would have more padding or something like when you fold a cloth nappy the boy way. But I asked my best friend who has two sons and her nappies were exactly the same as my daughter's - except where Elana's were lined with pink, Caleb's and Micah's were lined with blue.

I have often wondered the same thing. It would make sense to have more padding where they pee at, right?

Coupons WOULD be the way to go.

I don't think that cashiers would like to get coupons that were cut out from an extra-poopy diaper.

Maybe sticker coupons would work.

...then again the babies would peel off the stickers and eat them.
