Finally just the good singers are left.

The results' show is over. John, George, and Jasmine were in the bottom-three. This time John was mercifully voted-off.

Regardless of the criticism from the judges, and quality of his performances, it took a positive comment from Simon on last night's show to finally get that poor kid eliminated. Next year if a similar situation arises, maybe we'll see Simon "gush" over a particularily weak contestant rather than tell what he actually thinks.

I am thinking that John's appeal was that he rarely spoke, he displayed little personality, he wasn't talented, and he was the right age. I think that the first two points are the most important. By not speaking, and by not exhibiting a personality, John's preteen fans (who are willing to vote for two hours straight) were able to project any image that they'd like on him. That is the way it is with "all the Coreys," isn't it?

Okay. Mama is feeding the baby cereal. I've got to watch.

Ciao.

We don't get to see that episode until Sunday night - but they have the results show on straight after the performances - my guess is that channel 10 doesn't want Australian Idol fans to move on and watch one of the other 3 reality tv shows that are on on Sunday nights (My Resturant Rules, The Block and Popstars Live) so they're screening American Idol 3 (or is it 4) so that the fans stay interested enough to watch Australian Idol 2 when it comes back next month.

Oh yeah so we don't see that episode until Sunday but it pleases me to know that America made the right choice and ousted John Stevens - he's a good Dean Martin impersonator - he could get a one man show in Vegas or on a cruiseboat.

Did any of you like our Guy (Guy Sebastian) in the World Idol? (He should have sung Climb Every Mountain or When Doves Cry or even Crazy in Love instead of What a Wonderful World - with the whole Indian techno theme - even as an Australian I was disappointed and not surprised when he lost - it was better on Idol - anyway I'm still torn between Guy and Shannon)
I'm glad Kurt Neillson won but I'm really surprised that the UK idol did so well - he totally butchered the doors Light my Fire.

All I can say is thank goodness John is gone.

Kurt Nilsson was fantastic. I had a chance to listen to some of his other stuff and I was really impressed. I am quite surprised that he hasn't had a chance to release a record in the US yet. (His song "Ebony" is pretty cool.)

Guy didn't exactly shine on World Idol. I think that may have done a lot to temper his "push" worldwide. (You Australians really seem to love him though!)

You knew I would make it here tonight...He is gone...He is gone...Finally justice is served...

Was Kurt Nilsson the rocker dude? He was a good one...

I liked John, but mostly because he reminded me of Conan O'Brien and I'm sure that Conan will comment on John losing since he talked about how people say that John looks like him.

By the way, this is interesting: http://au.news.yahoo.com/040427/11/oqwi.html

Thank goodness he is gone. It is about damn time! He was rubbish!

I actually felt bad that they made him sing that song again at the end of the show last night. It was bad enough the first time.
Oh, and I do want to say that I liked John's personality and such. I just didn't think he deserved to be there.
