Tonight's American Idol results' show was an interesting one.

The strongest three contestants (Diana, Fantasia, and Latoya) were in the top three.  The two contestants who put on weaker performances last night (Jasmine and George) were in the bottom two.

When George and Jasmine were standing on stage nearing the end of the show, I began to feel a bit sad.  I didn't really want either of them to go.  (Now that John's gone, there isn't anyone left who doesn't belong there.)

Ultimately Jasmine was safe, and George was sent home.

I think that George's problem was that he didn't show much of a range of personality.  "Gleeful" can only take you so far.  I also think that his interview segment on Monday cost him a few votes.  He didn't really have anything to say.

Next week will be even tighter.  Four young ladies left...

My bold prediction: Diana in the top-two.  The next two eliminated will be Jasmine, then Fantasia.  Latoya will be the winner in the end.

I agree about Latoya. She is definately the one out of the four I would like to win. I have actually been getting really tired of Fantasia's voice. She really works the stage well, but I would never pay to listen to her sing. Sort of sad to see George go, though I knew it would come soon.

I think I agree - at first I was like noway Fantasia's amazing but too be honest like some of our finalists all their songs started to sound the same - kinda like John Stevens.
It's all about paying to see them in concert or buying their records - AFTER the hype of being the Idol is over.
That episode airs tomorrow night - and I won't see it I'm going to a 21st - but I'm glad I know the outcome

It's kinda funny this Idol/Popstars thing - We had 3 series of Popstars before we got Australian Idol and then Popstars Live.

The winners of the first popstars were a band - one member left before they even recorded the first song and was replaced, then after their first 2 songs came out one member left and went solo, the others like the spice girls tried to keep it together as just a foursome then they split up and two of them have solo careers the others have never been heard from again.

Second season popstars were mixed band - they had ONE single and were never heard from again

Third season was a solo artist - I'm not even sure he got a single out before he faded into oblivion.

Australian Idol - our Idol has an album and 2 singles out. Our runner up is doing better on the charts and has an album and 2 singles out and the guy who came 5th has a single out just this week.

The rest apart from Idol tours etc have gone back to their day jobs

I was really sorry to see George Huff go....I love the sound of his voice, but his poor choice of songs in the end did him in....they just didn't highlight his voice like they should have. Simon was right about Fantasia's voice, it really is cartoonish, and starting to grate on my nerves, but nothing like those "strategically" placed commercials....enough already.......thank God for my DVR player!

I am also annoyed by Fantasia's voice. My favorite is still Jasmine, but I do think LaToya is the most talented/\.

I was very sad to see George go even though it was the right choice. I guess Jamine will be next...Then we will see. It will be interesting to see how Diana fares in the end.
I must admit though this season is lacking in something...
