Tonight we were treated to the first mercifully short half-hour results' show.  The group of twelve was cut down to eleven.  Nice show, kept moving.

Quick Recap:

  1. Group song: everyone got together to sing some Diana Ross songs.
  2. Brandon Rogers and Phil Stacey were sent into the bottom three.
  3. Diana Ross sang a song.  With the way her dress straps were hanging, I was worried that we'd have "Wardrobe Malfunction version 2."  Was her dress supposed to be like that?
  4. Sanjaya (over Haley) was sent into the bottom three.
  5. Brandon was sent away.  Bye Brandon.

Show notes:

  • Haley did really well for herself last night.  She was sweet, charming, pretty, and America may have fallen in love with her.  She is getting her audition round/ Hollywood bump a little late.  Better late than never!  (Actually, better late than early. . .)
  • Sanjaya lasted another week.  How does this happen every year?  Personally, I am relishing the vitriol for this poor kid.  It is funny to see how crazy he drives people. It won't take long before his "go away" heat surpasses that of John Stevens or Scott Savol.
  • Poor Brandon.  He went on first.  The first one always has a hard time getting through.

This is my first year of watching American Idol with any regularity.

Haley is really growing on me. She is actually a good singer, and actually pretty.

I hate Sanjaya. He is nowhere near the league of the others in the group. I hope the twelve-year-old girls would stop voting for him. Is it still the sister factor? Maybe it was his hula dancing.

I guess we'd better keep voting for Phil, as he came very close to losing tonight instead of Brandon.

Brandon really choked last night and if it wasn't Sanjaya I knew it would be him to go.

Why do I watch this? And yet I cannot turn away.

Haley has been carrying herself well despite all the flack she's been taking from the judges. Good on her. I still feel, though, that she is the least talented from all of the female singers.

I'm sad Brandon went. I thought he was a good singer and very attractive. Maybe he can be a model.

I think Phil Stacey is a douche bag.

I'm not a big Haley fan. She's ok.

She is! Granted she's a beautiful girl, but with more voice training she can have a career as a singer. Others have done it!

Me too!

Sanjaya has all the Asian, middle eastern people voting for him!! He's cute and will have a singing career one day. He doesn't have a bad voice really. He just needs to learn how to present himself and perform, then he's definately be one to watch. But not on this seasson's show!

If you're serious about that (which I doubt you are), you're crazy.
