Hello there everybody! The weekend is almost over. I hope that everyone enjoyed it, wherever they were.
This weekend was a fun one for me. My parents drove here from Duluth, Minnesota to enjoy Mothers' Day Weekend. On Saturday we went to a few garage sales, followed by a nice dinner at a Korean restaurant (my wife's favorite.) Today, we met grandma for lunch at Cattle Company (steak restaurant.)
On the way home from lunch, my family stopped by Wal-Mart to buy some tomato cages. While we were in the store, a severe storm passed by. There was heavy rain, thunder and lightning, as well as a few tornadoes in the area. We stayed in the store until the storm let-up.
Here are the tomatoes that I planted today. I have a lot more plants inside, but I am waiting for the weather to get a little warmer before I plant my whole garden. These are the "pioneers" of my new garden.
********as I am typing this, there is a Faster Pussycat song on the radio. Cool!***************
Another cool thing that has happened is that the summer Grand Sumo Tournament has started. Grand-champion Asashoryu entered the tournament with thirty consecutive victories. If he continues winning, he will set the record in the Nagoya tournament in July.
My wife's favorite Sumo rikishi is Yokozuna Asashoryu:

I love flowering trees. Earlier this spring, I planted a Japanese lilac. Currently, our lilac bushes are blooming. We also have a crab apple tree that is blooming right now. It is really pretty.

Well folks, that's my blog for today. Sorry for the lack of a discernable point. Next week I will be back on topic with: American Idol commentary, Sumo reports, and maybe an anecdote about visiting the INS office.
