Hey there friends.  I hope that you all can survive Friday, and then have an enjoyable weekend.

Last night, we watched the season finale of ER at our house.  ER usually does a good job with end-of-the-year cliffhangers, and beginning-of-the-year surprises.  Last night's show gave us a number of surprises that we can spend the summer thinking about.

Is Neela really going to quit medical school?  Is she going to find her way back to Chicago?  What will happen with Sam and Luca?  Was anyone injured in Doctor Pratt's car?  Will Carrie get to keep the baby?  Will Carter and his wife go back to Africa?

The only implausible storyline if the above is Dr. Weaver's fight for custody of her lesbian wife's baby.  If her wife was a firefighter, and she had a baby in a relationship that is in murky legal water, wouldn't it make sense to have gotten some sort of will giving Carrie custody of the baby in case of an accidental death?  One would think that a firefighter would want to make sure that her baby goes where she would want it to in the case that she gets burned-up.

So now I am looking forward to the fall premiere of the next season of ER.  Of course, I am looking forward to having that hour cleared from my TV viewing schedule as well.

Ya know--I was think the same thing!  But I don't watch it every week so I just assumed that I had missed the episode where they addressed it.

I was certain that the writers were going to make the question of whether or not Abby passed the boards a cliffhanger!

I think that they did a pretty good job of dragging out the "passed the boards" issue by having it get lost in the mail.

Letting the audience know that Abby passed her boards helped to strengthen the viewers' good will.  By "throwing the audience a bone," we were left with some sense of closure, even though there were a lot of unanswered questions by the end as well.

After the show, at least we can take comfort in the fact that Abby will be a doctor next season.  That's all we know for sure.

I felt that it was a pretty appealing mix of closure and cliffhanger.

its was funny.....My wife was watching that and towards the end when the were all happily in the car I laughed and said "shit it's gonna be a drive by shooting" and I left the room (I hate the show) and I hear the screeches of the tires and screamingwhatever and my wife yells out "it was a drive by road rage shooting"....I laughed and shook my head....

I thought they di da good job of leaving us wanting more. I think the Road rage shooting was a little to predictable though. As soon as the kid flipped him off I told Jaysen, They are going to be shot, low and behold. They were. Can't wait for next season. YAY!
