Up to now I had been writing about the third season of American Idol. I was a bit lost as to what the next topic would be that I would dedicate two blogs per week to. Then along came a show on WB called "WB Superstar USA." (I recommend that you watch it.) It might be my favorite new show that is currently on the air.
The best thing about WB Superstar is one of the judges named Briggs. This guy is a riot! Some of the lines he comes up with off the cuff are awfully good. If he weren't a record producer, I'd believe that he was a writer or a comedian. The other two judges, Ton Loc and Vitamin C give the show some credibility as well. (Vitamin C looks a lot like Kate Isitt. Anyone else see that?)
The final eight contestants:
1. Jo-Jo 2. Jamie 3. Rosa 4. Tamara 5. Nina 6. Mario 7. Omar 8. John Michael
Comments:
My favorite two contestants are Rosa and Nina (www.ninadiva.com). My wife mentioned that she'd like to be friends with Nina. I can see that. She's pretty cool. I really like Rosa's accent (especially the "ju" for "you.") Rosa seems like she has a sweet, pure heart.
Jamie is from a place called Coon Rapids, Minnesota. We can drive there in about a half hour. -There's a good Chinese buffet nearby.- (Of course Jo-Jo is from Minnesota too... he's a goofball.) If Jamie knew better, she'd write her lyrics on her microphone fingers rather than on her palm.
Tamara's "appeal" is that she is so low-key.
Omar seems like a sweet guy. His singing is just bad.
Mario: Where did they come up with that guy? I don't even know what to say about him.
John Michael: if he does his hair right, he actually looks like Bruce Springstein. Like Nina-Diva, John Michael looks like a fun guy to hang around with.
We'll see what happens next week when four contestants are eliminated.
