Tonight we were treated to another entertaining episode of WB Superstar America USA.  In the end: Rosa, Jo Jo, Jamie, and Mario were sent on to the next round.  Sadly, we have to say goodbye to: Nina-Diva, Tamara, John Michael, and Omar.

The Performances:

1. Rosa: Sweet little Rosa sang "Wind Beneath My Wings."  It was pretty bad.  Now that Nina-Diva is out of the competition, Rosa is officially my favorite contestant.  Prior to Rosa's performance, my wife chose Rosa as her favorite.

2. Mario: The lanky Mario sang "Old Time Rock and Roll."  After the performance, Briggs gave his second-best quote of the series.  Briggs said, "(You have) all the qualities of Tom Cruise, without all that Scientology crap."

I was actually surprised that Mario made it through to the next round.  His song was bad, but I thought that Tamara and Omar were worse.  Maybe Mario is just "getting by" on his looks.

3. Omar: Omar's "Endless Love" would have been the worst song of the night had it not been for Rosa's song.  I suppose that Omar wasn't eccentric enough to be moved on to the next round.

4. Jamie: sang "My Heart Will Go On" quite poorly.  She's something else.  She has a pretty look with an awful voice.  I liked the touch of Briggs listening to Jamie sing with his back turned to the stage.  In previous weeks, he mentioned that her look distracted him from her singing.

5. Tamara: She sang "Over the Rainbow."  It was bad, but not bad enough.  It seemed like she actually practiced.  Too bad for her.

6. John Michael: He did an okay job with "Eye of the Tiger."  He wasn't poor enough to move on.  If he had some more of his cheesy theatrics, maybe he'd have a chance to hang on.

7.  Nina-Diva: She did an okay job with "We Don't Need Another Hero."  She is a fairly good dancer, and she has a good stage presence.  If she were a worse singer, she may stand a chance of sticking around until the end.

8. Jo Jo: Jo Jo had the most disturbing of the pre-performance vignettes.  (It is kind of scary that both Jo Jo and Jamie hail from my home state.)  His performance of "Footloose" was bad enough to ensure his trip into the final four.

Another enjoyable show.  I can hardly wait until next Monday to see what happens with the final four contestants.  Here are my "unofficial odds" for who will win:

Jo Jo: 3-2

Rosa: 3-1

Jamie: 8-1

Mario: 15-1
