Today my wife, the baby, and I spent the first day of my summer vacation in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The main purpose of our trip was for me to borrow some English-teaching videotapes from my old work. (I am going to use them for my three-week summer school course that starts next week.) After picking up the videos, I got my transmission fluid flushed, and we went shopping at an Asian grocery.
Following our errands, we went to see our friends Rob and Nancy. They are new homeowners, and are expecting a baby. Exciting, huh? It is fun to relive the joys of a new house and baby.
After visiting for a while, our friends decided to accompany us to dinner at Khan's Mongolian Barbecue in Roseville. (Kazuko and I love that restaurant. They have really delicious chicken wings and honey buns. Of course the buffet is yummy, and they have old sumo matches on the television. -I forgot that Musashimaru used to be relatively thin!-) We hadn't been there for a while, and both Kazuko and I were craving Khan's.
Here's what my dinner looked like. Before I give it to the cooks, I always load it up with fried tofu and cilantro. After that, I make my stir fry extra spicy and garlicy.
Rob, Nancy, and Kazuko and I enjoyed our dinners. Kenny didn't last long. He fell asleep at the table.
Kenny kept sleeping with his head on the table until
I inadvertantly banged on the table while making a point. (bad Dad.)
The final analysis: Fun day, lovely dinner, good friends, we went home happy.
