Pictures and notes from around my house.

Hello my friends!  I hope that you're having a happy day.  It is a lovely, sunny, Saturday morning here in Monticello, MN (pop. 8000.)  I was just outside with my wife and baby hanging up clothes.  I took a look at my garden, and it seems that everything is growing quite well.

Tomatoes are making fruit.  My peppers, cucumbers, shiso, beans, and corn are all growing tall and strong.  After I write this, I am going to plant a hydrangea out by the garage.  (We may even go to a garden center to get a bleeding heart plant and another hydrangea.)

That's what I have planned for today.  Tomorrow I am going to spend some time planning my English lessons that will start on Monday (I am looking forward to teaching my short summer course.   I hope that I can keep the kids motivated.)

Like the title says, it looks like baby Kentaro (Kenny) is about to start crawling.  He is up on all fours and rocking back and forth.  The best he can do so far is go backwards.  My wife and I have predicted that he'll be able to crawl within the next week.  I wonder if we'll be right...

Anyway, here's what he's working with right now:

The second part of the title mentions a yummy apple pie.  Like I have written before, my wife enjoys baking.  Last night she made a delicious apple pie.  I ate some before bed, and I had a piece for breakfast too.  This particular pie may have been the best one that she's baked thusfar.  Good job Kaco!

And here it is ala mode (heated up and with ice cream.)

Okay friends, let's see how much success I'll have with those hydrangeas...

I remember thinking the "he'll crawl any day now" when mine started the rocking back and forth while on all fours thing.  They both started doing that at about 6 months but didn't actually crawl until 9.

That pie looks wonderful. The heart is such a nice little touch.

I check my child developmental charts and at 6 months they should be able to pull themself into a crawling position and by nine months he should be crawling fairly well. So he is doing great. He will go backward, army crawl roll and scoot a lot more every day. Kaco will not get to sit down now for about the next 16 years.
Are you going to Duluth for Grandmas run?

Cute baby! When I see a baby crawling and smiling, I feel like raising a child. I'm jealous.
