Hello there friends!
I am enjoying a Friday evening here at the computer. My wife, son, and I have just come home from a nice dinner at a restaurant in Saint Paul. My friend Andy and his wife Chialing hosted a post-wedding party for family and friends living in Minnesota. (They were married a year-and-a-half ago in Taiwan, but they had a sort of "wedding reception" for visiting inlaws from Taiwan, as well as American friends.)
I guess that my point about that is that we had a good dinner at a nice restaurant with good friends. Hooray for us.
Now I am sitting in one of the more intensely air-conditioned rooms in my house. It is really comfortable in here on a hot summer's evening. My wife and baby are on the second floor, where we have a nice air conditioned guest room. (We sleep up there in the summer time. Our main bedroom isn't air conditioned.)
Today is one of the rare days this summer when we've needed the air conditioning. So far this year, we haven't had many hot days. We have had the air conditioners on in our house from time-to-time over the summer, but we haven't needed them most of the time every day like we usually do in the summer time.
The cooler weather is good news, because it saves a lot of money. It is expensive to run the air conditioners!! I am sure that it'll get unbearably hot up here before long, but for now I can appreciate the cooler than normal weather.
