Hello there! I hope that you are having a happy day. I have lots of odds-and-ends to write about. I apologize to the casual readers who may have just stumbled onto this article. I doubt that it'll be very interesting.
The big news in Minnesota baseball is that Doug Mientkiewicz was traded to Boston. In exchange, the Twins received a minor-league pitching prospect.
I have mixed-feelings about the Mientkiewicz trade. Traditionally, first base isn't a place to put a player that is "all field and no hit," but Mientkiewicz brought a lot of intangibles with him to the ballpark. Hopefully the pitcher that the Twins got in exchange will pan-out.
My news is that I have had a busy couple of days.
Recently we have had some rain and wind as a result of a typhoon that passed south of where I am. The good news is that the weather has been slightly cooler following the typhoon.
Last weekend, our friend Fukashi came to visit. We played Play Station games and had dinner at "Bronco Billy" steak restaurant on Saturday (That was delicious!!) On Sunday, Fukashi and I went fishing at the sea.
We had a nice time fishing on the warm, but windy day. It started off slowly, but by the end of the day, we caught about three dozen fish.
Here is me holding an "Aji" that one of us caught (It looks kind of like a big sardine.):
Yesterday, I played golf at Kira Country Club with my friends: Mr. Hase, and Mr. Maezawa. My gold wasn't so good, but I had a terrific time. I finished the day with a chip-in, so that's what I'll remember. After golf, I had "Kaiten Sushi" with Mr. Maezawa. That was really tasty!
Then today, my wife and I both visited a masseuse (is that spelling right?) to get an acupressure massage. My wife got the full-body treatment, while I had my legs and feet massaged. If possible, I may go in for a head massage next time.
Finally, I have been playing a new game that I bought for my Play Station. It is called "Minna no Golf3" (Everybody's Golf 3.) It is my favorite golf game. (I have 1 and 2 in America. There is a fourth, I may buy that the next time I am in Japan.) In fact, I am looking forward to playing it after writing this.
I suppose that's it for today!
