Our little baby is nine months old.  He is a pretty active little boy, and he really enjoys getting into things.

Today I was thinking about the fact that even though he has access to plenty of toys, he prefers playing with things which aren't intended to be toys.  I was wondering about if he were to "fill up his own toybox", how many things would he choose before picking an actual toy.

Before toys, I figure that he'd choose:

1- A remote control

2- A full box of tissues

3- His mom's orange and green striped bra

4- Stereo headphones

5- An empty pop bottle

6- Mom's or Dad's glasses

7- A cellular phone

8- A Play Station controller

I guess that after choosing those eight things, he'd probably move on to proper toys.

When it comes to gifts he is probably more interested in the box than the toy also!

Maybe he figures that if the box can contain a toy, it is far more fascinating that the toy.

Jamie,

Reading this, I have to relate a story from yesterday.

My wife had the shower for the newborn baby yesterday, and when she came home, she had all of the shower gifts. Our two year old came through the house hollering, and holding her newest "toys". I laughed my posterior off when I saw what they were: nursing pads.
