"Aim for Ace."

Recently, my wife and I have been watching a Japanese television drama called "Ace wo Nerae."  I have only seen one Japanese TV drama from beginning-to-end so far.  This one is pretty enjoyable to watch.

"Ace no Nerae" is a live-action drama based on a famous comic.  It is about a first year high school student (a girl named Hiromi) who takes up tennis.  The story deals with: conflicts between players, jealousy, the coach's personal struggles, the main character's drive to be a good tennis player, and young love.

I look forward to watching the show either each Saturday night on TV Japan, or on video on subsequent days.

I have been especially impressed with one of the actresses on the show.  She is a young Japanese actress named "Becky."  It seems to me that whenever she appears on television, eyes are drawn to her.  She is very "telegenic."

I don't think that Becky will ever have her own series, but I can forsee a long career of supporting character and variety show panelist roles.  She reminds me a lot of an actress named Ranran Suzuki.

Hi Jamie,
Is this drama about 10-years old? I remember watching a Japanese drama about high school tennis players and really enjoying it even though it was in Japanese and I don't speak Japanese. I watched maybe 8 to 10 episodes. After that, the show was no longer on the air, so I never found out what happened!!! If it is the same one, you will have to tell me what happens.

I've been reading your blogs since the beginning. Really enjoy them! Kenny is absolutely adorable.

The drama that I am watching is currently running, although I wouldn't doubt that there would be another drama based on the same comic done some time in the past.  I will have to do some research on that.

Thanks for reading my blog Jodie from California
