I am writing this weblog during the commercial breaks in the Twins-Yankees game. It is game one of the ALDS. (Go Twins!)
Every year I am always amazed at how exciting baseball becomes as soon as the post season comes along. I stay with my team through the highs and the lows of each year; and then as soon as October rolls around, everything seems fresh again.
So far, Mike Mussina and Johan Santana are in a 1-0 pitchers' duel. Every out is crucial. It is like every inning is the ninth!

The most exciting post-season baseball games I have ever seen were games 6 and 7 of the 1991 World Series. I was lucky enough to be sitting in left field for both of those games.
Game six featured Scott Erickson pitching his guts out, and Kirby Puckett delivering an amazing catch and a walk-off homerun in the tenth (eleventh?) inning. Game seven featured a ten-inning shutout by Jack Morris.
(That series certainly wasn't good for my college midterms which were occurring at the time. -Lesson to you students out there: I remember the world series, but I don't remember the tests!)
Go Twins!
