In the United States, today is Election Day. I stopped by my city's polling place on my way to work. It took me about 35 minutes to get in, vote, and leave.
After a person votes, he receives a red sticker which proclaims: "I Voted." I think that the red stickers serve as a good incentive to get people out to vote. It is a really behaviorist approach to it all, but probably surprisingly effective at getting people to the polls.
As I was leaving, I grabbed two stickers. I had planned to put one on my son, photograph him, and post it on this website. Unfortunately when I stopped home to give him the sticker, he was busy eating breakfast. I didn't want to interrupt his eating to take a picture.
Nonetheless, in order to illustrate my point: I took a picture of the sticker that I am wearing. It isn't as cute on me as it would have been on my baby, but it serves to illustrate what the sticker looks like for those of you who haven't seen one.

Last weekend my friend Andy and I visited Grand Casino Mille Lacs in Central Minnesota. We were there to see Bob Newhart perform stand-up comedy.
The show was really funny. Bob has a talent for making his jokes seem funny. Some of them I have heard in various forms, but coming from Bob they seemed new and funny. There were a few times that I was laughing myself to tears. If Bob tomes to your town, I'd recommend that you go to see him.
One interesting thing about the show was that my friend Andy and I were two of only a handful of people in the audience who were under 60. It seems that Bob attracts an older audience than other comedians that I have seen in the past.
