Here is a minimalist approach to my blog today:

Bush won president.  Go figure...

Now I will have to go back to ignoring the news for the next few years in order to preserve my sanity.  (It worked up until about three months ago, and then I got wrapped up in the election.)

Back to reality TV, 1970s sit-coms, and video games for me!  In a way I am relieved.  Worrying about things that I don't have any control over is just stressful anyway.  (I'll just make sure that I figure out a way to pay for my retirement, while at the same time try not to worry about losing my job.)

My friends Andy and Chialing just found out that they're going to have a baby girl.  How exciting!  I bet she'll be cute!

I like that you say, "Back to reality TV, sit-coms, and video games." I feel the same way. I actually remember thinking, when I first heard that Bush had probably won, "Well, at least I have Dance Dance Revolution."

I also really felt like buying something expensive to make myself feel better. Isn't that weird?

I swore off current events after the 2000 election.

The World Trade Center, stuff blowing up in Iraq, and the election sucked me back in for short stints.

From now, I will remain blissfully ignorant until something else blows up.  (Then I will watch the news for a week or so.)
