We live in Monticello, Minnesota. Last night my wife received a call from out friend Chialing. Chialing was so excited. Even though I was about five meters away from my wife, I could hear Chialing's voice on the phone: "Go outside! Look up in the sky!"
We went outside, and we were lucky enough to get a really good view of the Aurora (the Northern Lights.) Every once-in-a-while they shine down over Minnesota, but they usually aren't as bright as they were last night. It was pretty amazing. It was like there was a green/blue misty curtain blowing in the breeze while hanging over the sky.
Apparently there is a good chance that we'll be able to see the aurora again tonight. I recommend to all of you living in Minnesota that you go outside and look up at around 8:00-9:00 tonight. You might see something spectacular.
(Monticello is right next to Albertville. This is the best map I could come up with on-the-fly)
