Hi there friends!
I hope that you had a nice weekend. I am here, updating my weblog before I go to watch some Sunday night television. (I hope that "The Practice" isn't a re-run tonight!)
We had a happy weekend. My mom and dad were here from Duluth. On Saturday, Kazuko and her mom and a lot of people from my family celebrated a baby shower for Kenny. That was a nice time. Usually men don't come to these sorts of events, but I stuck around to help translate for my mother-in-law while Kazuko was busy with the guests.
This morning, we brought Kazuko's mom to the airport. It was sad to see her leave. It was nice to have her here helping out Kazuko with the new baby. I hope that Kazuko doesn't get lonely during the day while I am at work.
After going to the airport, we went to Eagan to do a little shopping. I will be throwing a Holiday Party for my K-5 ESL students at the elementary school on Thursday evening. I went to buy some party favors and food for the party. I am looking forward to Thursday coming soon. I hope that the kids and their families have a nice time too. This kind of a party was one of the plans that I had when I started teaching. I hope that I can make it an annual tradition.
Initially, I had intended to throw a Thanksgiving party, but Kenny was due at that time. I didn't want to have to worry about throwing the party at a time so close to an impending delivery! This year the party coincides with the Christmas season. Hopefully I can make it at around Thanksgiving-time next year.
I suppose that is about all for today. I hope that everyone has a nice pre-Christmas Vacation week. I hope that all of my dear readers get their shopping done on time too! I will leave you with a few pictures that I took over the weekend.
Bye!
Jamie
Here are two pictures of Kenny, wearing a cute little reindeer bib and Santa hat that our friend Claire sent us from England. Isn't he cute? The hat can be used as a hand puppet.
On Saturday, Kazuko had a baby shower in Apple Valley. In this picture Kazuko and the guests are playing a gift-exchange game.
Before Kazuko's Mom left today, we all took a picture by the Christmas tree. Unfortunately for me, the picture that I was in didn't turn out.
