This morning it was my turn to take baby Kenny to daycare.

Like always, I left him in the living room to watch "Oswald" on the Noggin Channel while I take a quick shower.  He usually plays really nicely and doesn't cause trouble when "Oswald" is on.

Today I got my surprise.  When I stepped out of the shower, Kenny was there splashing in the toilet.  He had also pulled a lot of the toilet paper off of the roll.  (He was so quiet!  I didn't even know that he was in the room.  I think that he knows that he was doing something that he needed to be sneaky about.)

Next time I will have to take an even quicker shower!

I'm sorry, Jamie, but I'm sitting here busting a gut laughing.....he looks so 'busy'!

I vividly recall my babies doing the same thing.  It seems that when they get to walking age they develop a fascination with the toilet and the toilet roll. My youngest flooded the bathroom once...he was trying to see just how much toilet paper it would take to absorb all the water in the bowl and flushed to try and hide the evidence of his 'experiment'.  My middle boy tried to flush a TV remote control, and my eldest decided to wash her Barbie tea set plates in the loo...one went around the S bend, got stuck, and we had to remove the entire toilet in order to get it out.

Cute picture!

Unasked for advice from me...Keep the toilet lid down, head first fall in is all to common. That said...

My daycare kids decided to wash my most valuable precious moment figurine for me in the loo. One that hadn't been flushed no less!

Normally I do, but just in case: the water level is really low.  The worst he could do in a head-first fall is get his scalp wet.

(I think it would be physically impossible to get one's face in the water in there.)

Bwahhahahahahahaha! He's so cute!
Plus, very curious. I think he'll become a smart boy.

"Hisasiburi", Jamie!

Thank you so much for this post! It brings back such great memories from when my 3 were younger. I actually used to feel guilty when I took a shower that I was a bad mother for "leaving my baby unattended." When are mothers supposed to shower and use the restroom? I don't think I ever figured that one out.
