Hey there!

Yesterday I had to make a quick trip to K-Mart to buy some diapers for baby Kentaro. He is growing quickly through the various diaper sizes.

While I was at the store, I found a number of winter flannel shirts on sale that I really liked. There were a number of pretty nice shirts in the 10-15 dollar price range. I looked through the various items to pick one out for myself (I like wearing flannel shirts.) Sadly, since it is late in the season, the vast majority of shirts were either size small or medium. There were two larges, but those would only fit me until I put them in the washing machine once. (You know how flannel shrinks!)

It reminded me of a "Far Side" cartoon that I had recently come across. Two guys were standing in hell by a coffee maker. One guy was looking into his cup saying, "Man! They thought of everything! Even the coffee's cold!" That's kind of how I felt. There were all of these nice shirts at low prices, but none of them would fit me. Darn!

On a different note: Last night on the IFC channel, they played the Guy Ritchie movie: "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels." I have seen that movie a number of times, but I still enjoy it each time that I see it. It made me want to go out and rent "Snatch." This morning as I was driving to work, I was thinking about whether I like the pair of movies: "Pulp Fiction," and "Reservior Dogs" better than the pair: "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels," and "Snatch."

I think that even though I enjoyed Tarantino's gangster movies a lot, Guy Ritchie's movies may better stand the test of time. Even though there was a lot of violence and foul language in both movies, I wasn't as disturbed with them in Guy Ritchie's movies as with Tarantino's. Ritchie's movies seemed slightly cleaner in that way. All four movies have clever stories with lots of surprise-twists. All four films have a lot of eccentric characters who use clever dialog when speaking.

I am sure that plenty of people debate this all the time.

FWIW, I own all 4 on DVD and really only tend to rewatch the Ritchie films. Not that that'll stop me from buying Kill Bill on DVD. Really enjoyed that, though I felt it could have used a little tighter editing in some places.

Just as I expected... I don't think that I even need to re-watch the Tarantino films.

Kill Bill had a lot of shock-value though, didn't it? I don't think that I had liked the movie as I was leaving the theater; but the longer I thought about it, the more I "appreciated" it.
