Hello there. Thanks for coming to read my blog. I always appreciate as many readers as possible.

Like my headline says: There is only one day left until the weekend. I think that I need the rest this weekend. After a long Thanksgiving holiday, the kids came back to school like little angels. By around Wednesday of this week, I noticed a big spike in the energy level of my students. I think that "cabin fever" is setting in. Because of this, has been taking a little extra from me to keep the kids engaged.

It is really interesting to observe the ebb and flow of the week. Kind of one of those: "Don't buy a car made on Friday," or "Make sure that your job interview is on a Wednesday," types of things. (-Professor Rodgerson from our "Individual Differences" class at the University of Minnesota brought that up. It was probably the wisest consideration that I had encountered in graduate school.)

So to celebrate the nearing end-of-the-week, Kazuko's mom, Kazuko, Kentaro, and I will drive down to Maple Grove. After dropping off my wife's car to be checked on by the engine people, we will have dinner at Old Country Buffet. (I love to put the bright-green peas in the salad!) Maybe Kazuko will have a chance to show-off the baby at her old Starbuck's store too. (Of course, I'd like to stop in for a few Krispy Kremes too!)

One more interesting thing for the day: A student and I were looking up flags on the internet. We really wanted to identify one particular flag. While doing this, we ran across a cool website that helps you to identify various countries' flags according to the colors of the field/ name of the country/ geographic location/ etc. It is worth a look if you're even the least bit interested in flags.
