Hi friends!

When my wife and I moved into our house last summer we were greeted with a shower that had a very nice flow of water. By the time we were finished with our shower, we knew that we were clean. The only drawback of our shower head was that it was quite old and it had accumulated some minerals over the years. Kazuko and I decided to buy a new shower head.

When I installed the new shower head, I unknowingly threw away the old one. What I didn't know was that I had doomed my family to low-flow shower purgatory. The water pressure was so poor, it was necessary to rub the shower head itself on your body to get clean. (Thank goodness it was detachable!) Apparently during the time that I had lived abroad, the low-flow garbage was mandated by the government. Little did I know that it is best to hold on to antiquated bathroom fixtures.

We put up with this for a few months. Finally I was fed-up. My dad showed me where the rubber washer was that hindered the flow from the shower. I threw that stupid thing away. Now thankfully we can take normal showers again! I was happy enough to let out a laugh as I took my first shower with the "improved" shower head.

Our improved shower. Yay!

This afternoon, Kazuko, Kentaro and I went to Babies 'R' Us (a baby goods store) to buy a new longer-running mobile. Kenny really likes his animal mobile, except it doesn't run for as long as we would like. Kazuko wanted to get a battery-operated one, so he can sit and watch it for longer. We bought a pretty fancy one for him. It plays classical music and it has lots of moving parts.

This is what Kenny looks like as he watches the things go round and round.

Here is Kentaro as he enjoys his new mural..

Two things:

1) I can totally sympathize about the shower. I hate low pressure in the shower! That is one thing my hubby and I have always been sticklers about.

2) Be careful of battery operated mobiles. We had one and it got recalled because babies had gotten burns from battery leakage. The one we had had the battery in a compartment that was overhead. Looks like yours might be on the side which I am sure is much safer. Just thought I would mention it. He is such a beautiful baby!

One question, is that where Kenny sleeps?

Don't worry. We'll get the toys out of there once he can get to them.

No, just wondered because we only used the crib for naps until the boys were 4 or 5 months old. We were cosleepers. I know, a lot of people think that is so dangerous but we were very careful and had those side supports, made sure no pillows or covers were near their heads, etc. It was nice. Didn't mean to make you feel judged. To be honest, my concern was about the cord to the monitor.

What a beautiful little guy! Almost makes me want to have another. Best wishes.
