I believe that people usually put up their Christmas tree and lights over the weekend after Thanksgiving.  This year we got a bit of a late start.  We finally finished everything today.

I put lights in my big pine tree.  We have a lit-up snowman, some icicle lights, and colored bulbs in the front of our house.  My wife spent a lot of time on tree inside.

It is pretty hard to get a picture of the big tree in our yard, but here's what the front of our house ended up looking like this year:

Then we got the tree up this year.  Kazuko chose some new balls and some candy canes to hang on it.

Our bird Hanako was pretty interested in the new tree.  She flew over to it twice.  (She'll be having her wings clipped someday soon!)

The bird looks good with the tree

I knew that birds like trees, but I was pretty surprised at how quickly my bird took to the Christmas tree.

Maybe she wants to find a nest in there or something.

Your house and tree look soooo nice! What does Kenny think about all the pretty decorations? I see that Hanako really is enjoying the tree too.
