Or have my expectations gotten larger?

So tonight my family had dinner at McDonald's.  My son had some apples and some juice from a McNuggets Happy Meal.  (My wife ate the McNuggets.)  My wife had a chicken sandwich, and I had a Big Mac Value Meal.

Once I was finishing up my Big Mac, I thought to myself: "Is that it?"  (I have had that same thought with recent Big Macs that I have purchased as well.)

In the past, I recall Big Macs being substantially bigger than they currently are.  After a Big Mac value meal, I remember being completely full for hours.  Now when I eat one, I think: "Well I am full, but I am not super-stuffed."

Have the Big Macs gotten smaller, or have my expectations gotten larger?

What I suspect is that my expectations -unfortunately- have gotten larger.

Recently I have become acquainted with the Hardees "Thickburger," and the Culver's "Butterburger."  Those sandwiches are awfully big, yummy, and stay with you for quite a while.  (The way a Big Mac used to.)  These burgers may have skewed my sense of scale when considering hamburgers.  Maybe the Big Mac is the same, but the competition is getting bigger.

Now I'm getting hungry...

It's not just you. The patties, at least, have definitely gotten smaller. Same with the Filet-O-Fish. And I remember when you got a whole slice of cheese on your fish, instead of the sliver they give you now.

It could be like the candy makers, they increase price marginally until they decrease size and make it all new and improved to start the trend over again.

I've notice that the Big Mac seems smaller too. Could it be that with all those "butterburgers", "thickburgers" and Big Macs it is more than our "expectations" that are getting larger?? ;~D

btw, I love them Culver's "butterburgers" too!!!

others may be bigger, but none as tasty.

Hey Jamie, speaking of Micky-D's,  you should rent this documentary from your video store.  It's called, "Super-Size Me!"  It's crazy stuff!
