In America, we have adopted the British tradition of running 007 marathons at Christmastime. Ever since SpikeTV acquired the rights to the 007 movies, we have had Bond marathons during various holidays.
In the spirit of the holidays/Bond marathon, I would like to ask you: who is your favorite Bond?
Most I assume would pick Sean Connery. He defined the role, and seemed everything that James Bond should be.
Pierce Brosnan is an actor who I think was born to become a James Bond. Who knows what would have happened to the series had it not been for Remington Steele postponing his debut?
Roger Moore was the longest-lasting Bond. His job was to redefine Bond after a tepid reception for George Lazenby. As a result of his being "The Saint," he was a very wise (and safe) choice to carry on the tradition.
Tomothy Daulton isn't a very popular Bond. I don't really know why. He was a good "Bond as an action hero" Bond. He was the epitome of no-nonsense. Maybe he wasn't able to fill Roger Moore's shoes as a "humorous Bond."
George Lazenby was apparently an asshole on the set, so he wasn't invited back. Too bad for him as he starred in arguably the best movie of the series. (If you get me in the right mood, I will cry when Theresa Bond is shot.)
My personal favorite would have to be Roger Moore. Maybe it has a lot to do with the fact that I grew up with Moore as Bond. When I think of James Bond, I think first of Roger Moore. Sean Connery had it all to be Bond and he defined the role, (And if I were ten years older, I'd bet that I'd choose him!) but for me Roger Moore is James Bond.
I would hold Pierce Brosnan in really high esteem except that last Bond movie was a real stinker, wasn't it?
