My oldest hedgehog Chippy died today. He was almost three years-old. We will miss him.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. He sure looked like a cute little bugger. How long do they typically live?

Hedgehogs usually live three to eight years in captivity. (I have never actually seen one that is eight though.)

In the wild, they usually live to be one-and-a-half.

They're ready to live alone when they're about two months old. They're fully grown at about six months.
