Hey there!

Kazuko and I just got back from the movies and from grocery shopping. When we got back home, the temperature on our thermometer said 10 degrees (-12C.) It is cold outside!!

The movie that we saw this evening was "The Matrix: Revolutions." I enjoyed the movie. It was a lot better than I had been expecting according to the reviews in this morning's paper. (I will have to check Roger Ebert's website to see what he had to say. He is the movie critic with whom I am most apt to agree.)

I was really surprised that as the movie progressed, it really began to resemble "Star Wars." I suppose that there are only so many ways one can go with the messianic hero-types. As if it mattered anything, I think I would give it: three-stars.

I only have four more work-days left before the baby is born. Since he is coming on Wednesday, I will have a five-day weekend to help my wife and I to adjust to our new lifestyle. I am not anticipating my five days to be relaxing and restful, but they certainly will be good for a stimulating change-of-pace.

My biggest recent accomplishment was that I had been able to contact all of the parents who I needed to about parent-teacher conferences. I am sure glad that I am not a secretary! For some reason I just dread making phone calls to people who I haven't met yet. I wish that I could do everything via e-mail!

An interesting thing happened today:

As I was driving home, I noticed a FOX9 news truck in the parking lot of the McDonald's where I usually have breakfast. (It is in the city of Big Lake, Minnesota.) I remember thinking to myself: "I wonder why the news truck is there..."

When I arrived at home and started watching the 5:00 news, I saw a "big story" from Big Lake. Apparently the McDonald's had burnt down! The news footage showed that the building was completely destroyed. I can't believe that I had missed the burnt-down building, but noticed the news truck. I will have to survey the scene on the way to work tomorrow.

In reference to a previous article on this very weblog: I suppose that I won't be worrying about whether or not I get stir sticks at that location (until they rebuild at least!) I don't want to go to McDonald's in Monticello. The service there is terrible! I guess that I will just have to start eating at home before work. That's probably healthier for me anyway.

*Chippy the hedgehog is still doing okay. He isn't very active. I hope that he at least feels okay.

*Baby Kentaro will be coming in just seven days! (Almost six because it is nearly midnight!)

That's all for today!

Thanks my friends for stopping by to read.

Our school just sends home a sheet that the parents fill out when the best time would be to come in. Then, they send you back a note that says when you are scheduled. It works out well because you have a chance to sit down and see what your schedule looks like.
