My wife was sitting with my one year-old son at the computer a little while ago.  My wife was crocheting, and Kenny was playing on the Teletubbies website.  (He was having an awesome time!)

After a while of playing, (dragging, clicking, and moving) baby managed to shut off the computer somehow.  (He was having a great time before he ended up turning off the computer.)

Now ever since I turned the computer back on, it is doing something strange.

I hear a little popping noise followed by a Teletubbie "Uh-Oh!"... About five seconds later I hear a little popping noise followed by a Teletubbie "Uh-Oh!"...and then about five seconds later I hear a little popping noise followed by a Teletubbie "Uh-Oh!"...

It was kind of funny at first, but now it is getting a bit irritating.  I wonder what I can do to stop it.

Yeah it is okay now though. I did a "system restore" and apparently the sound went away.

It was kind of a funny thing to happen to my computer, wasn't it?

Sounds like the sounds got associated oddly. Try going into the control panel and seeing what sounds play what. Or look for whats in your startup folder, could be playing the audio clip on repeat. Or empty the cache on your web browser. I hope you can get it straightened out soon.
Or I type too slowly and you fixed it already, that works too

There was probably some kind of sound theme package that installed from the teletubby site.
Unfortunately a lot of children's sites will install stuff you don't want on your PC, beecause they know that kids will generally click on anything.
I would run a spyware scan to make sure nothing else installed.

You could also set up a user account with limited rights, so that if your son is playing on a website again, it won't be able to install anything.

Here's a real "Blast From the Past" coming up in forums.

Two replies in here are over a year apart.
