The results are in, and the twelve finalists have been chosen.  Next week will mark the beginning of the theater/ theme-based shows.

My predictions for which four contestants would be eliminated were pretty accurate this time (75%,) with Nikko Smith taking Constantine's place in the list of eliminated performers.  I'll tell you: Constantine dodged a bullet again.  After three consecutive dismal performances, Constantine made it into the final twelve.  (I really hope that he is able to perform better in the next round.  I am not looking forward to another subpar pretender stinking up a roster spot in the final twelve.)

Eliminated Contestants:

Amanda Avila: Amanda had a few less-than-stellar appearances, and she wasn't able to give an inspirational performance in the studio.  Sadly the show will lose its prettiest contestant.

Janay Castine: Came up with three consecutive poor performances.  Not much could help her chances.  She gave it the "ol' college try."

Travis Tucker: Sang an awful rendition of a Bobby Brown song.  The Lionel song wasn't so good either.

Nikko Smith: Nikko is a good singer, but he wasn't able to do anything to connect with the audience.  (His answer to the "Why did you sing 'Georgia'?" question was a bit detached to connect with the audience.  That's a little bit Ryan's fault for asking a Howard Cosellesque question.)

Now that there are twelve contestants left, it will be fun to predict who will get eliminated first, second, and then so on...  Looking at the crowd of twelve, I see an awfully strong field.  I can't imagine who will falter first, but I'll have to think about it and post some predictions soon!  (If my dear readers deposit a few predictions in my "response" section, I'll answer back with some predictions of my own.)

Well I posted on your first final finalists show because that was on here last night.

From that show only I would have put Nikko in the top 12 over Constantine simply because the 30seconds of Kiss from a Rose were really just blase` - but I really liked Bo Bice - Drift Away.

And I haven't seen any women perform at all

I predict the first one will be a girl(Possibly Lindsey) to go. Even if Constantine does bad.
P.S. Your articles on the show are really good, you have surpassed yourself from last year.

Thanks Kelly.  Your kind words serve as encouragement!

I am still thinking about the first cut...  I tend to agree with what you posted however Kelly.

Constantine is so lucky, and Nikko got robbed !
Ditto on your coverage, it's great ( particularly when Fox goes against Alias )..
I still think the girl who did the Strisand song should have been eliminated.....

I think Anwar, Bo, Mario, Nadia, and maybe even Jessica (i think that's here name) are the frontrunners...but, I guess we will have to wait and see how the bigger performances go...I like Carrie, too, but she needs stronger performances to get her moving along in the competition...

Good call InBloom!  Those picks match the ones I just posted on my weblog.

Mikalah has been the most exposed to the media, and is a media darling. She has been praised for her voice as well as her personality.

She will be in the top 5 without hesitation. I think someone on the edge makes people edgy, but if history serves right in entertainment, Elvis, Madonna, Bette, and many more worked the edge and won!

I think that Carrie is overated. Nikko was robbed. And Mikalah should win from behind....like a human Seabiscuit.

Good Morning Jamie,

Wow, you are getting popular here!

Thanks for popping by my thread, as sad as that one was. I have been getting bumped off the forums too.

Hmm..My favorite of all time so far is Bo. However, I have a feeling that Mario is going to win.

I like Nadia a lot too. She has been so consistent. I can't believe the huge voice she has for such a little thing.
Have a great weekend!
