Hello there friends. I hope that you're having a happy evening.

After work I plowed my driveway. It is good and clear now. I hadn't plowed for a week because I didn't really have the inclination to run to the hardware store to buy a new belt for it. Now that I have, it cuts through the snow like nobody's business.

In the evening, my wife and I had to take baby Kenny to the doctor. He has been coughing and wheezing for a couple of days. The doctor said that he has "bronchilitis," (not bronchitis.) He has a little irritation in his lungs from a virus.

Once we got home, we connected him to a nebulizer, and now he seems to be breathing just fine. I am sure that he feels better too!

Once baby got to sleep, Kazuko and I tried out our new version of Dance Dance Revolution. It came in the mail today. That was pretty fun. I am looking forward to learning the new features in our new game.

That's all for today. Here's a picture of little Kentaro, relaxing with the nebulizer on. In the picture his condition looks so serious, but he's perfectly fine now. Really. He is sleeping happily now in his crib.

Poor kid! Those viruses can drive you insane. Not much you can do but keep the kid as comfortable as possible and let them fight it off. Hope he starts feeling better soon!

Hi, KarmaGirl. I am Kenny's mother. Thank you for feeling sorry for our little son and giving us good advice to survive this newly parenthood.
I have a question since I heard that you are a nurse.
You know the Vicks Vepo Patch that you have recommended to use to comfort Kenny's breathing. Does it still work to our 3 months old son with Bronchiolitis? I wonder if it's good for my usband also. He sometimes has some bad coughs at night, and I feel awfully sorry for him.
Kenny is taking a nap right now. Seems to feel better.
Thank you again. I hope you come back here and read this reply.

Kaco, look back a few blogs. Other people writing in determined that three months old may be too young for that.

Although not as serious as this, I don't think my kids ever STOP having colds.

Actually, I'm not a nurse at all. But, I am a Mom.
I looked at the box, and it's actually for 2 years and older or "ask your doctor" for use on children under 2. I have found that a lot of times you can use stuff on children under 2, but only if the Dr. says OK. I am sure that they would work for adults, just standing by my daughter clears my nose up!

I hope the little guy is feeling better. My 5 year old has a cold right now. Once they get in school, it seems like they are always sick.

Did Kenny have a fever? If so, how high? I am fortunate that both my boys got through infancy with no bronchitis. I have had it lots of times and it is miserable. I hope the little guy gets better quickly! He is soooo cute! Hope you all get a chance to rest up. Best wishes.

No fever. Just congestion.

Hopefully he'll be better soon. He seems to be beginning to get over it now.

See, doesn't that drive you crazy when there isn't a fever? My kids rarely ever get a fever and the doctors give me a hard time about bringing them in if they don't have a fever. I think parents just know when something is wrong and doctors shouldn't question that.

Glad the little guy is breathing better. Kids bounce back from stuff a lot faster than adults. We once had an intestinal virus (people say stomach flu) that all 4 of us got. The baby, 4 months at the time, threw up a couple of times and was over it. The rest of us wanted to die! Babies are amazing in many ways. They keep you on your toes.
