One hour marathon.

Tonight's Idol results' show was a one-hour affair.  The first half hour was just filler that allowed me to: wash the dishes, clean the bathtub, and then fold some laundry.  In the second half hour, we learned that the bottom three finalists were: Nadia Turner, Bo Bice, and Scott Savol.

I wasn't surprised that Scott and Nadia were in the bottom three.  I was mildly surprised that Bo was in there, even though last night's song wasn't exactly spectacular for him.  In the end, Nadia fell victim to a foolish choice of song, and was eliminated.  (I thought that Scott would have been the one going away this week.)

It was a bit shocking for me that two out of my three favorite contestants were standing on stage at the end of the show.  (At least Vonzell was safe!)

My wife had an interesting observation about Bo's recent ennui.  She speculated that Bo is possibly bored with the other contestants, with the grind, the show, and having to learn songs that he doesn't want to sing.  (This was pretty evident while watching him happily sing "Remedy.")  I predict that following a trip to the bottom two, Bo may kick it up a notch beginning next week.

Nadia wasn't going to win it all, so it seemed that tonight was her night to go away.  That's too bad.  She was good.

Scott... What are we going to do with that guy?  I am sure that his fans will hope that he'll kick it up a notch next week.

(I know I will vote next week.  I have kind of been negligent in that respect lately.)

My wife wondered if Bo's song selection this week may have been too polarizing, her contention being that Freebird is the unofficial white trash, redneck anthem, and the urbane voters were turned off by the song....hmm
I agree this was Bo's wake up call.

Why in hell is Scott still up there? There must be some kind of contractual requirement to have an overweight or racially ambiguous contestant for the majority of the show.

I still stick by my prognostication, Bo and Carrie as finalist.........

I'm sad Nadia left. She looks like a star, and she sing like one. It is too bad she's not what the viewer's want. She is good and I will probably buy any album she releases.

That leaves only Constantine and Carrie who has never been in the bottom three.

Hmm. I don't know what to say...

I guess I mirror Dynosoar..Why the hell is that Scott still there. He is getting creepier and creepier.

I agree that Nadia would not have won but she was far better than Scott, and the Clay Aiken Clone.

See ya next week.

no way, you are right about the girl because I think she has the voice and talent to do so and country is one favourite music and Janis Jopplin has got nothing on her and the other finalist is Constantine saying no more, i like Scott & Vonzell as well.

Why the hell is that Scott still there.

I ask this question every week.

Can anyone translate that for me?

I'm as confused as you Jamie! (we're talking about the Anon's comment right?)

I'm sorry to see Nadia voted off so early though. I'm rooting for Bo and Vonzell! Carrie is good as well too and will probably be the next Idol if America is going by the usual-looks!
