The theme of tonight's show was "Songs from the year 2000 on."  I wasn't really optimistic about the entertainment value of tonight's show, considering that I wouldn't be familiar with many of the songs.  Sure enough, I only recognized Constantine's and Vonzell's songs.

The Performances:

1) Carrie Underwood sang Lord knows what.  Sometimes I wonder what happens during the sound check at rehearsals.  The music was so loud that Carrie's voice was almost completely drowned out.  One would think that the production staff would catch something like that.

Carrie really needs to learn a dance step.

2) Bo Bice sounded good, and was dressed well.  I liked it when he twirled the microphone stand.

The other day I was in my car listening to the radio.  The song "Lunatic Fringe" came on.  Hearing that song, I imagined that Bo Bice would do a fantastic job with it if he had the chance.

3) Vonzell Solomon This lady has become a really strong contestant.  She speaks well, she is pretty, and she is a good singer.  Vonzell did a really good job with this song.  I liked her performance.

4) Anthony Federov sang a big, melodic, theatrical song.  I thought it turned out really well.  If he sang this well every week, Anthony would be my favorite contestant.

5) Constantine Maroulis sang a song that I've actually heard in entirety.  As usual Constantine's vocals were weak, but his performance on stage was strong.  I feel that he's about to hit that wall that I predicted at the beginning of the competition (although much later than I had expected.)

6) Scott Savol was a bit dull, but his song wasn't as horrible as other efforts.

Best three: 1) Anthony Federov (I am surprised as you are!) 2)Vonzell  3)Bo

Poor this week: Scott, Constantine, Carrie

So do you think Scott will last another week?

Good Morning Jamie,
I"m with you, this was not the most interesting show.
I thought Bo did the best following with Vonzell and then the rest.
Scott's expression was right on. I think he knows he is gone.

Till tomorrow.

Once again, I agree, Scott is gone this week, unless Constantine's poor performance ace's him out even sooner....

Carrie dressed better this week but the song selection was a piece of crap, and she sang it like crap as well.

I'm still pullin' for Bo and Carrie in the final, but Vonzell does seem to be pulling up from the rear of the pack, peaking at the right time , so to speak.

Andrew sang Celine Dion (?), shesh, must be why Clay was in the audience, checking out his competition.......

Andrew? Do you mean Anthony?

Anthony seems to have the extremes from people - you either like him or you don't. I personally don't think he's as bad as some people makes him out to be as long as he has the right songs. He can't sing in certain registers and his low notes need work, but he does have a major pair of lungs. There's a certain appeal he has that causes a positive and negative reaction depending on the type of person you are.

Carrie needs to sing a more well known song and not make the mistake that Nadia and Jessica made.

I thought this week it would be Scott vs Anthony, with Scott edging out on luck and fanbase. But Anthony seems to have quite a few positive feedback for his performance so maybe Scott will go.
