Today as I was driving home from work, I heard the news on the radio: Minnesota Twins' setup man Juan Rincon has been suspended for ten days for violating baseball's substance-abuse policy.  I was disappointed to hear that one of my favorite ball players failed a drug test.  Losing this guy for ten days will hurt the Twins' chances of holding on to late-inning leads.

Now it wasn't reported which drug he had been caught using.  (He will hold a press conference tomorrow.)  I sure hope that it turns out to be marijuana, or something like that!  I'd hate to have it turn out that he's using "performance enhancing drugs".  Of course, any illegal substance is bad, but I would prefer it if said substance's abuse doesn't affect the integrity of the game.

If it was steroids, then we're in trouble too.  He almost certainly won't be as good of a pitcher off the juice as he was on it.  Let's see what he has to say during the press conference...

According to the Duluth news just a few minutes ago, they hinted that it was a performance enhancing drug. I was so disappointed! Will have to wait to see what he has to say for himself tomorrow.
