So I was sitting on the couch, watching a baseball game.  My phone rings, and I pick it up.

As soon as I answered, some guy with a southern accent starts ranting and raving about me stealing his newspaper.  He claims that he's my next door neighbor.  I told this guy to just come over and get the paper.

Just for kicks, I argued with the guy for a few minutes.  I played along with his joke too for a while until it got too repetitive.  Then I let him go.

This guy who called did a good job with the accent and the voice.  Sounded like a voice actor...  So if any of you hear a similar conversation on morning drive radio in the next few days, you'll know it was me.  (It wouldn't be much of a morning show.  The bit wasn't really funny.)

The one in my area usually has the DJ call the person's work and have them think that their plans have gone astray for a wedding or something. In fact, the wedding one is the one I remember the most. He pretended to be the guy from the dress designer saying they couldn't get it. She was "but it's my wedding day! You told me it would be in!" She was getting ticked.

They also do this segment called "War of the Roses" where one half of a couple sees if the person if cheating. Then, the DJ says they are a rep from a flower company and wil send flowers to whomever they choose free of charge. If they receive the flowers, their relationship usually goes either way. Usually the other half who got the phone call is usually "well, we have to talk this out." But sometimes, they will give the roses to another person and all heck breaks loose. Those are the best ones to listen to.
