Hello there.

My family and I just finished watching group two on American Idol. I was pretty disappointed with this group. Last week's show was absolutely fantastic. I was worried that every singer in the competition would sound so good that nobody would lose. I wonder what happened tonight.

Randy and Simon were especially critical of this group (and rightfully so.) Randy really has his teeth out this season. Paula seemed really upset and on the brink of tears twice during the show. I wonder what was up with her... I am thinking that she may be a pretty emotional person.

The performances:

1- Matthew Rogers: Really good profile. His intro package made him a very likable contestant. Unfortunately his song was pretty blah. Too bad that he didn't sing a "bigger" song.

2- Briana Ramirez-Rial: She picked a tough song and she didn't do so well with it. That's a shame too because I'd bet that she has a better song in her. I like that she had developed a more "feminine" look.

3- Noel Roman: Saying that he'd cut his brother's throat cost him a lot of votes even before he sang a note. (Do non-pathological people ever talk like that?) The song cost him even more votes.

4- Kara Master: Was compared to Julia DeMato, except better. I don't think so. Julia was fantastic. I frankly don't even remember Kara's performance.

5- Lisa Leuschner: Awfully pretty face. I think that her song was the best of the night up to that point. I wonder who was choosing the songs tonight. None of the songs were ones that I knew terribly well (besides the Nora Jones one.) Anyway, she was good. It will either be top-12 or Wild-card show for her.

6- Jesus Roman: He sang the counting song. I don't like that song. I am afraid that Jesus wasn't that good with it either. Dare I say that I can't praise Jesus... Nah! Awful pun.

7- Camile Velasco: Pretty, charming girl. I like her look and I liked her song. It was funny because I thought that she'd be just another stinker after watching her promo package before she went on. It seemed like we were being "prepared" to hear another bad one. Fortunately she was very good, and I will vote for her (as soon as I post this.)

8- Marisa Joy- (Changed her name from the one on the FOX website.) She sang an up-tempo song and actually had showmanship. Her song was passable.

My prediction: Camile and Lisa will pass to the next round.
Kazuko's prediction: Camile and Marisa.

I was looking at next week's list of contestants. That is going to be one good group! I am really looking forward to hearing: John Peter Lewis, Charly Lowry, Jonah Moananu, Leah Vladowski, Susan Vulaca, and Eric Yoder. The other three contestants don't necessarily "ring a bell," but I am willing to be surprised.

Wow, we totally agree! I was soooo dissappointed with the performances! I also think Camile and Lisa will be the ones to go on from that group. Boy did Jesus and Noel stink it up! I think they would have been nicer to Mathew if he had followed them

Hi Jamie - Thanks for the update. I got to see AI last night. I voted for Camille and Lisa. I thought Lisa was the best. I was really sad that Matthew (football man) didn't do better. He has an astouding voice. I think he just picked the wrong song. Briana, too. I think her voice is gorgeous - it just wasn't the right song for her look and style. Oh well.

Last night's show was a real stinker. I have higher hopes for next week.
