Today we bought a tricycle for our little boy.  We brought it home, and put it together.  Once I got it together, we learned that the tricycle is too big for our child.  His feet don't reach the pedals.

We'll put it away for a little while.  I hope that he'll be tall enough to use it by the time that it snows.

What fun! Make sure you get him a little helmet so he doesn't end up with some more little head owies. It was either a trike or a big wheel that resulted in Monica's first set of stitches. (she didn't have a helmet).
I can't believe how big Kentaro is getting, is he excited about the new baby brother on the way?

It was so fun to see Kenny on a tryke! You can put blocks of wood on the pedals. You cut them the same size as the peddle and clamp them on. Once he grows, you take them off and he can use just the regular ones that are there. You would be surprised at how well that will work. Kenny will be able to use the tryke before the end of summer that way. I agree with Joey - a helmet is a GREAT idea. They have some really nice ones!

Nice. Looks just like my first ride. Maybe one of the small bigwheels (oxymoron, kinda like jumbo shrimp) would be good until he grows in to it.

Definately start him with the habit of wearing a helmet right off the bat. Of the more than 9,000 cyclists who are killed by helmet preventable head injuries every year, more than half are children.

You can buy the blocks with clamps at kmart or wallmart.
