This weekend is the "Minnesota Education Association Convention" weekend.  Schoolkids have a four-day weekend, and it is a reasonably big travel weekend in Minnesota.  (Do they have a four-day convention break in other states?)

My family spent part of the weekend on what should be our last camping trip for a couple years.  (New baby coming...)  This time out was our son Kenny's first camping trip.  (He had a REALLY good time, but kept mom awake most of the night.  He is used to sleeping alone.)  We went to a state park near the city of Willmar.  It is about an hour-and-a-half from our house.

Daddy and baby by the lake.  Kenny was interested in the lake.  He was hoping to catch a glimpse of a whale-shark.  (I don't think that we have those in Minnesota...)

One of our "traditions" is to eat crablegs for dinner on the first night of camping.

Daddy eats crab.

Mommy eats crab.

Kenny at the dinner table.  Shark and torosaurus are never far away.

Over night, Kenny's high chair had a visitor.  Raccoon?

Hi tree.

This campsite was pretty fancy.  They had a modern bathroom.  Baby did a good job brushing his teeth.

What a wonderful way to spend a long weekend! You all looked so happy! Capturing racoon paw prints was neat too.
