Yesterday my son and I went to the flu shot clinic at the medical center in our home town. There were all sorts of people there lining up to get their shots. It was certainly the place to be!

While we were there, I overheard numerous people proclaiming how they "hate needles." There were many people who were making quite the deal out of getting a little shot. I bet that it makes the nurses cringe every time they hear that (unless they're already numb to it.)

I think that it is one of those things that people hear on TV that they decide to parrot in their own lives like: airplane food is terrible, I hate snakes, and kissing a smoker is like licking an ashtray. How about some originality?

I wonder if people have ever considered the alternative to flu shots with needles? While in the service we got our flu shots through an air gun, trust me if you had any fear of needles that took care of it! I of course don't really like needles but they are way better than the air gun!

I suppose it is good since I am going into medicine, but needles fascinate me. I love to sit there and watch as I get a shot or while blood is drawn. But heck, I like doing it too.

unless they're already numb to it.

They are numb to it.  I'm sure after you heard it a few hundred times you tend to not care anymore.

You're 100% correct on that one. I'd MUCH rather have a needle than those damnable air guns!
