Hey there friends. I hope that you've had an enjoyable Monday.

Mine was okay. I had an ordinary day at work, followed by a trip to K-mart with my wife and my baby. After that we watched some TV, I danced, and here I am.

Oh yes... There is one thing that I need to mention. I placed the seeds for what will be my future garden in a mini-greenhouse. I hope to have some good sprouts for late-March/ early-April when I start my garden. (I will most likely start it during Spring Break.) I intend to plant at least nine different kinds of vegetables. Let's hope that they turn out!

My garden is one reason that I can't wait for Spring! I am really looking to planting vegetables and watching them grow over the summer. I get really fired-up over watching plants grow. A few years ago I had a few vegetables growing on my balcony. I couldn't wait to get home each day to see how they were doing. I'd talk about them all the time to my friends too (I'm a pretty wild guy, aren't I?)

The other reason is that I am looking forward to Spring is that I will plant a tree in my yard. This afternoon I purchased a Japanese lilac tree. Apparently, this sort of tree is supposed to bloom with white flowers in early-June. This lilac tree will be the intended future-site of early-summer tree-blossom viewing parties. My wife and I can hang some lanterns on the tree, invite some friends over, and have a real fun time!

Unfortunately, we can't plant sakura (cherry blossom) trees here in Minnesota. If we could, we would be able to throw a real Japanese cherry-blossom viewing party (Hanami- ‰ÔŒ©.) Since we can't, we'll have to settle for viewing the blossoms on our lilac tree. That'll be nice too. It is kind of the same idea, right? (Plus: any excuse for a party is good for me.)

Here is the beginning of said garden. I wonder how long it will take to see sprouts...

The biggest news of the day is that Baby Kentaro has learned some new tricks! It seems that he learned them as he was sleeping. When I said goodbye to him in the morning, he grabbed my glasses. Now he seems to be able to reach for things and try to manipulate them. He couldn't do that last night.

Another one of Kenny's new tricks is lifting his head up like this. Pretty soon he'll be rolling over.
