For a while it seemed that regardless of how we dressed our little baby boy, people would always assume that he was a girl.  He can wear his baseball shirt, jeans, and a cap, but his long hair made everyone think "girl." Two weeks ago I ordered a Flowbee, and it arrived at my office on Thursday.  This morning, I gave it a whirl on the baby.  I cut his hair off in the back.  Baby didn't enjoy his haircut, but mommy didn't like doing it either.  I think that i...

Recently our son Kenny has started with imaginary play.  He gallops his plastic horses around the table, and has them "eat grass" when he's playing outside.  The other day, he was putting broccoli into a toy lion's mouth.  It is really cute. Last night my wife put a baseball cap on him (to see if it would fit.)  As soon as she put it on him he bent over, pretended to pick up a ball, and then pretended to throw it.  He must be paying a lot of attention when he watches ...

Here are a few pictures that I have been keeping in my camera, as well as some I took today. The other day (May 5th) was Children's Day.  (A Japanese holiday.)  When I came home from work, my wife had perpared a nice dinner for us.  We were supposed to eat it outside, but unfortunately it was raining.  It was fun in spite of the weather. Kenny was ready to eat.  -He isn't far from his plastic elephant.  He loves his plastic animals! Kenny eating c...

Tonight my wife and I took the baby to our local pizza/ pasta restaurant.  They have really good pizza! When we go, Kenny likes eating spaghetti.  He usually eats everything, but he really gets messy.  It is cute.

Hi there.  It is a Sunday.  My wife is watching a Japanese DVD, my son is playing with plastic animals, and I am listening to the "Sunday Morning Sports Huddle" while playing on the computer. One of the things that I have been playing with this morning is Microsoft Terraserver .  At that website, you can type in an address (in the US), and then you can get an aerial photograph of that place.  I looked at an aerial photo of my neighborhood from 1991.  The area certain...

Usually I pride myself in keeping things under control.  I try to prevent having a lot of things to do from "stacking up".  Generally speaking, I am good at keeping my slate clean from day-to-day/ hour-to-hour. Today however it is a different story.  There are people I have to call, things that I have to do, things I need to prepare, things that I need to finish, and things that I have just remembered to do for home and for work. I find this to be mildly stressful.  (As...

The other day was my birthday.  My wife and I were both busy, so we'll celebrate by going to an Indian restaurant sometime this weekend.  (Indian may be my favorite kind of food.) I received some nice presents.  My wife bought me a workbook to help me with my Spanish studies.  It has a lot of good vocabulary that I need in my job.  I also received a DVD of the second series of "Men Behaving Badly."  (The first series should be coming soon in the mail.) I am lo...

**I have tried to post some pictures, however I am having slight troubles with my geocities account.  If you don't see the pictures now, rest assured that they'll be up shortly. April is here.  Spring has sprung.  The trees are budding.  The birds have returned.  That means that it is once again time to put up our Koinibori (Japanese carp streamers to celebrate childrens' day.)  I put up our koinobori pole on Sunday. *** Last night my wife and I to...

On Monday morning when my son and I woke up, I noticed that he had been sick.  Since then we have enjoyed lots of vomit, terribly messy diapers, sleepless nights, and a cranky baby.  My wife and I each had to spend a day home from work too. He hasn't been able to keep much in the way of food down.  He's been sucking down ice cubes, electrolyte drink, and eating a bit of apple sauce and bananas.  I'd bet that he's looking forward to the point that he can eat real food again...

Whenever baby gets the chance, he picks up the phone and pretends to talk.  He loves that thing!

Yesterday my friend Andy and his wife Chialing had a baby.  Her name is Madelyn.  (I hope that I spelled the name right!)  She's so cute!

Hello there readers.  I have a few baby pictures to post here, seeing that I haven't in a while.  My daily schedule has been busier than usual lately, so I haven't taken as many pictures as before.  I got a few on my computer today, so here they are. Like I have written about recently, my son has really taken to the computer.  He LOVES the Teletubbies website.  Here are a few shots of him playing the "move the bunnies" game. Once he noticed that I was vid...

Our little one-year-old loves to copy mom and dad.  (That's not unusual.)  Now that he is more mobile than ever, he is able to climb up on the chair by the computer.  He loves banging on the keyboard, moving the mouse around, and clicking the buttons. Once it seems that he's getting too excited, or the computer starts making funny noises, we have to take baby away from the computer.  Then -of course- he throws a fit.  It is really cute to see how excited he gets when ...

Every winter, the Minnesota Twins hold a charity event at the Metrodome called Twinsfest.  It is a chance for fans to walk around the field, look at memorobelia, buy souvenirs, get autographs, buy tickets, and stuff like that.  There are concessions and games for the kids and all of that.  It is a pretty fun day for Twins fans. Since my wife had some work-related training in Minneapolis, I decided that I would take my son with me to see the activities.  (My wife and I went...

Today was the last day of the New Year Grand Sumo Tournament from Tokyo, Japan.  The winner of the tournament with an impressive perfect record was Yokozuna Asashoryu.  Other notable occurences were: Tochiazuma's earning of another Ozeki promotion, Hakuho's 9 win performance at Komosubi , and the possible Spring-tournament promotion to Sanyaku of Kotooshu. So to commemorate the end of the first tournament of the year, I decided to rearrange (and add to) some of my sumo memorobe...
